Keep Nebraska City Beautiful will supply free trash bags and loan banners, gloves, and some pick-up tools while supplies last to Nebraska City residents who wish to participate in the Great American Cleanup this Spring. Activities can include litter cleanups, special recycling events, planting red flowers for a "Grow Big Red" garden, increased recycling collections, tree plantings, clothes collections, etc. Please register any event or activity you wish to do with us at keepnebcitybeautiful@gmail.com so we are able to keep track of everything happening in Nebraska City, Nebraska and report them back to Keep America Beautiful.

Working or not! Items include (but are not limited to) computers, televisions, printers, key boards, cell phones, stereos, appliances, etc. Your items will be used to help provide vocational training and job experience for disadvantaged men and women at the Cross Training location. This is an annual event with the date for 2020 not set yet.
clean your block for applejack
Keep Nebraska City Beautiful hosts “Clean Your Block” for the annual Nebraska City AppleJack Parade. The weekend prior to the parade, a roll off dumpster is placed in the downtown city parking lot for participants to place garbage collected. No brush is allowed. This is an annual event. In 2020 our plan is to have assigned areas to be cleaned and have a central location to pick up bags, grabbers and gloves.
Adopt a highway
The first Adopt-A-Highway program in the nation began in Texas in 1985, and is now international in scope. Nebraska's program officially began in April of 1990, through the efforts of Gretna State Senator, Emil Beyer.
In the past years, the Adopt-A-Highway program has grown to cover about one-quarter of the State’s 10,000 miles of roads and currently 900 groups have adopted a section of Nebraska roadsides as their own.
